The Big Move

This blog is coming at you from just outside Houston! We're getting settled in slowly (as things like this tend to go with a baby), but really enjoying our new place.

Isaac has been a rock star for the past few weeks. Our last move came at a bad time for him and was really rough, but this time he made a seamless transition and took all of the changes in stride (including sleeping in 4 different locations in 4 nights).

While I'm still trying get used to having double the square footage to work with, he hit the ground crawling and has been having a ball with all of the new space.

The view from our backdoor! Love it!
Staring intensely at the ducks outside our window while wearing his ducky bib.
Feeding the ducks is in our near future.

He was really pleased to have all of his books in one place (boxes) and everyday has pulled out several books and "read" to himself. Quite funny to watch.

Isaac wishing Daddy good luck before his first hearing!
Far and away the best thing about the move is being back together as a family. Joe and I spent 3.5 years apart with ocassional weekend remittances and I experienced the all-too familiar sinking feeling everytime we had to say goodbye these past several weeks. Isaac made things easier. With him, my weeks passed quicker and with less loneliness. Each time he flashed a smile at me, Joe was there. With the stress of getting moved in and feeling like I'll never get every box unpacked let alone pictures up on the wall at the end of everyday when we three gather to eat dinner and say Isaac's prayers it's a great reminder that when we're together all is right in our little world.
