Let's start with the biggest news:
Joe took the Bar in February and we had been waiting on results so we could know if he was going to officially be a lawyer or have to start up the 8 hour study days again. As he was up at the law library studying for his last final, he got the word that the passage list was up, and lo and behold, right in the middle of the "Asian section" there was his name!
The next day, he finished his exams, thus ending his time at SMU Law School. Then came time for graduation. The weather was absolutely perfect for the outdoor celebration. It was really special to have Joe's brothers, Anthony and Nick, as well as our sister-in-law, Joan and Joe's cousin, Brian in town for the occasion. Isaac did great during the long ceremony and wore a tie to match Daddy's.
This past weekend, we went to Austin for the swearing-in ceremony for new lawyers. Joe, along with the rest of the February Bar passers, got to stand in front of the Texas Supreme Court and swear an oath to uphold the Constitution (among other things). Now he's officially official!
I'm so proud of my husband for all of his hard work and accomplishments. To quote my mom, "the Bar, a baby and a hood" all in a matter of months! I'm looking forward to telling Isaac how hard Joe worked in the days and months leading up to his birth and how he was there as his Dad walked across the stage.
Congrats to Counselor Licata, Esq.
