Baptism

Last Saturday was Isaac's baptism. It was a wonderful ceremony performed by our longtime friend, Deacon Hank Lanik (who will be ordained a priest at the end of this month!).  His godparents are our good friends, Nic and Brittany Taunton, an amazing and faith-filled couple who will be excellent models of Christian love, obedience and patience as Isaac grows up.

Isaac wore Joe's baptismal gown at my insistence, which was lovingly handmade by his grandmother for the purposes of a winter baptism. He wasn't thrilled about the superfluous warmth it provided and was tired due to a lack of nappage that morning, but cooperated rather nicely considering the circumstances.

We were so honored to have so many friends and family in attendance. Joe's Aunt Lucille and Uncle Peter came from New Jersey. My sister and Isaac's godparents came from Austin, and Hank took time out of his busy schedule to fly up from Houston for the day.

Afterward, we all went to Goar Park where we ate some delicious food (thanks to all those who pitched in), open Isaac's gifts and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.

Our son is so blessed to have godparents, family and friends who will love him, pray for him and help him on his faith journey. Thanks to all who came and to those who wanted to but couldn't be there. And a very special thanks to our good friend, Russell for taking some amazing pictures.
